Confirmed Death Toll in South Korea Ferry Disaster Passes 100 – Reports
The confirmed death toll in South Korea’s ferry disaster passes 100 on Tuesday. Reports said the official count provided by the coastguard stood at 104, with 198 still missing.
Last Wednesday the 6,825-ton Sewol, carrying 476 people – most of them schoolchildren – capsized and sank when it sailed in a calm sea towards southern island of Jeju.
Some 174 people, including the captain and most of his crew, were rescued, report said.
