The Commission on Elections(Comelec) on Tuesday urged voters to get their Comelec IDs at the office of the Comelec in their respective areas of registration.
Comelec spokesman Atty. James Jimenez clarified that there are millions of voters’ IDs which are left unclaimed by its owners at the various Comelec offices nationwide.
He said the Comelec will not send these IDs to the owners’ residences or to their barangay hall.
Jimenez added that the Comelec IDs for those who registered during the 2004 and 2010 registration of voters, are ready to be distributed by the Comelec to its claimants.
While all registrants on 2011 are advised to wait for any announcement as it is now being processed by the Comelec.
However, they are also urged to visit the Comelec website at www.comelec.gov.ph and see if your IDs are already printed.
This can be done by clicking the “Precinct Finder and ID Printing Status Checker “ at the left side of the page.
After answering all the information, just click the word “search” and if everything is positive you may call the Comelec hot line (02) 5259294 or you may directly get it from the Comelec in-charge.
