COMELEC Extends Deadline for Reactivation of Overseas Voting Records
The Department of Foreign Affairs, Overseas Voting Secretariat (DFA-OVS) announced that the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) has extended the period of filing for Application for Reactivation until December 9, 2015.
According to the DFA, COMELEC has also simplified the process of the Application for Reactivation (OVF No. 1G) by allowing applications to be filed in two steps.
First, by sending a copy of the duly accomplished OVF No. 1G, including its attachment, if applicable, via e-mail to overseasvoting.reactivation@comelec.gov.ph or through fax at (0632) 521-2952.
Overseas Filipinos can also send through mail or by personal delivery a copy of their duly accomplished OVG No. 1G and any attachments necessary to the nearest Embassy, Consulate, Mission, MECO or at the Office for Overseas Voting (OFOC) in COMELEC, Manila.
The form for Application for Reactivation is available at any Embassy, Consulate, Mission, MECO or may be downloaded from the COMELEC website at www.comelec.gov.ph or DFA-OVS at www.dfa-oavs.gov.ph websites. (DFA/RJB/JEG/PIA-NCR)
