Cloudy Skies, Rainshowers for Most Parts of PHL Wednesday
(PNA) — The trough or extended cloudiness of the low pressure area inside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) will continue to bring cloudy skies with light to moderate rainshowers in most parts of the country on Wednesday, according to Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).
PAGASA weather forecaster Alvin Pura said that as of 4 a.m. Wednesday the LPA was spotted some 350 km east of Baler, Aurora (15.5ºN, 125.0ºE).
He said the weather disturbance still has a slim chance to become a tropical depression.
Even though it is not expected to intensify into a tropical depression, Pura said the trough or extended cloudiness of the LPA is still expected to bring cloudy skies with light to moderate rainshowers in Visayas, Caraga, Metro Manila, Cagayan Valley, Central Luzon, Calabrazon (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal and Quezon) and Bicol Region until Wednesday.
He said the rest of the country will be partly cloudy to cloudy with possible isolated rains because of the localized thunderstorms.
Meanwhile, Pura said the state weather is monitoring another cloud cluster east of Mindanao which is expected to develop into another weather disturbance.
He added the new LPA has high chance to intensify into tropical depression.
Once it intensifies into a tropical depression inside the country, it will be locally named “Karding”.
PAGASA expects two to three cyclones to visit the country this September.
In its advisory, PAGASA said light to moderate winds blowing from the northeast to northwest will prevail over Luzon and Visayas and coming from the southwest to west over Mindanao.
The coastal waters throughout the archipelago will be slight to moderate. (PNA) JBP/CLTC
