City Distributes P3K Cash Assistance to PWDs
Starting this morning, Cebu City Mayor Michael Rama spearheaded the distribution of P3,000 to each of the Persons with Disabilities (PWD’s) in Cebu City at their respective barangays.
The more than 9,000 PWD’s in Cebu City that are accredited with the Department of Social Welfare and Services (DSWS) has been allocated with P5,000 each as financial assistance from the city government.
The city had already released the initial P2,000 to all PWD’s that is why they only have P3,000 remaining balance.
Earlier, City Treasurer Diwa Cuevas advised the PWD’s to come to their respective barangay halls early to receive their benefits.
Christmas Bonus
Meanwhile, the City Treasurer’s Office (CTO) will also distribute on Tuesday next week the P10,000 bonus to each of the more than 4,200 City Hall regular and casual employees.
Senior Citizens
For the senior citizens, the city government cannot released the entire remaining balance of P5,000 to each of the 58,000 senior citizens due to lack of funds.
Cuevas said she has prepared two sets of payrolls, one carries the figure of P2,000 while the other one, P3,000 for the cash assistance of the senior citizens.
“Si mayor ra ang magbuot kun hain sa duha ka payrol ang iyang pirmahan,” said Cuevas.
Apparently, the city cannot give the entire P5,000 remaining balance of the senior citizens’ cash assistance.
If Mayor Rama would decide to release the whole amount of P5,000 to each of the senior citizens in Cebu City, the city would be spending P290 million.
