City Council Commends Natuel, Santander
Cebu City Police Office (CCPO) director Mariano Natuel has turned over his post to incoming city police director Noli Romana in a simple turn over ceremony Thursday and said he should be proud enough to raise his forehead because of his accomplishments during his seven month stay in office.
“Dili ko mauwaw nga mobiya sa akong pwesto nga giayo nako sa pagdumala gikan sa pag-asumier nako kaniadtong Enero 1,” Natuel was smiling when he was interviewed by MetroCebuNews minutes after he and some of his personnel were commended by the City Council on Wednesday.
Aside from Natuel, the city legislators headed by Vice Mayor Edgardo Labella also commended Chief Inspector Romeo Santander, chief of the City Intelligence Bureau (CIB) for its major accomplishment when his unit arrested suspected bigtime druglord Roger Flores and seized P7.8 million-worth of shabu.
The troops headed by Santander raided and searched the house of Flores in Barangay Sawang Calero and confiscated 26 huge plastic packs with shabu, the street-name of methamphetamine hydrocloride, a regulated drug.
The city legislators commended Natuel for the biggest illegal drugs buy-bust operation this year and the other for his service rendered as head of the city’s police force.
Inside the session hall on Wednesday, the police officials were asked to stand up to be recognized, followed by a brief photo opportunity with the council members.
City Councilor Richard Osmeña, chairman of the committee on peace and order, sponsored a resolution commending Natuel’s group for his invaluable performance and leadership as the Director of the Cebu City Police Office from January to July 31, 2013.”
