Cintiq Companion And Companion Hybrid Announced
Wacom, the drawing and artist tablet manufacturer has just introduced a new Cintiq Companion range of tablets, where the Cintiq Companion will be powered by Windows 8, and is accompanied by full versions of creative software.
The Cintiq Companion Hybrid is a traditional Cintiq when plugged into a Mac or PC, but when used as a mobile device, works as a stand-alone Android tablet with enough power to do light sketching and run other apps.
The Cintiq Companion will be powered by a third Ivy Bridge Intel Core processor as well as Intel HD Graphics 4000, and there will be a couple of models available to choose from – one of them sporting 8GB RAM, a 256GB SSD and Windows 8, while the higher end model will get a storage bump to 512GB SSD with Windows 8 Pro as the operating system of choice.
Both models ship with the Wacom Pro Pen with 2048 levels of pressure sensitivity.
As for the Cintiq Companion Hybrid which is powered by the NVIDIA Tegra 4 processor and runs on the Android Jelly Bean operating system, it will arrive in 16GB and 32GB capacities. The prices are $1,499 and $1,599 for the 16GB and 32GB models of the Cintiq Companion Hybrid, respectively, while the regular Cintiq Companion models will arrive in 256GB and 512GB capacities at $1,999 and $2,499, respectively.
