Churches in Cebu Ready as Vax Sites
The Archdiocese of Cebu is willing to lend their parishes as vaccination sites to help in the economic recovery of Cebu.
The Archdiocese has already lent the IEC Convention Center as an isolation center for asymptomatic COVID-19 patients.
Today, the IEC Convention Center is now a vaccination site of Project Balik Buhay (PBB).
Monsignor Joseph Tan said that the church is willing to lend its parishes as vaccination sites. However, Tan emphasized that the move should be strategically feasible as this would cost money and personnel for the local government units (LGUs).
Tan added that it is important to address the people who are not willing to vaccinate themselves against COVID-19.
He said that there is a lack of effort in convincing people who are not willing to vaccinate themselves because of misinformation, especially on social media.
The Church is also closely working with the government and the private sector in educating the public in taking the COVID-19 vaccines.
Tan also said that the church will only lend the parishes as venues for vaccination, but the expenses and other logistical needs are provided by the LGUs. (ASC)
