The Cebu South Bus Terminal (CSBT) is preparing for the influx of passengers during the coming Holy Week from April 10 to 15, an official said.

Alberto Joey Herrera Jr., CBST security management chief, said the preparations include the putting of tents for passengers who cannot be accommodated in the air-conditioned terminal.

Herrera said they will also put up portable toilets for the convenience of passengers waiting for a ride to the southern part of the province.

Herrera said they will also install directional signages to guide passengers where to board buses and where to stay while waiting for their ride.

He also assured that colorum buses will not be allowed entry into the CSBT.

He said only buses with Cebu Capitol stickers will be allowed entry into the terminal.

Herrera said only buses with legitimate franchises from the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) will be issued with the Cebu Capitol stickers.

More police personnel and military troops will also be deployed to secure the passengers, he said.

The CSBT recorded the highest number of passengers passing through it during the long All Souls’ Day and All Saints’ Day weekend last year.

Some 125,525 passengers passed through the CSBT from Oct. 29 to Nov. 1, 2016. (PNA)EB/EDS
