Cebu’s Great Furniture Sale Slated

The Great Furniture Sale organized by the Cebu Furniture Industries  Foundation, Inc. (CFIF) will serve as one of the most exciting  highlights of this year’s Manufacturing Technology Cebu, the largest  industrial machinery, technologies and product exhibition in Cebu. The  event, which will happen on July 25 – 27 at the Waterfront Cebu City  Hotel & Casino, will feature Cebu-made export quality furniture and  furnishings at factory prices.

“For us, Manufacturing Technology Cebu is a great avenue to showcase  and offer high quality designed furniture and furnishings to a wider  market”, said CFIF President Angela Paulin. “One of our key missions  as a foundation is to contribute to the sustainable growth and  development of the Philippine furniture export industry through  promotions, human resource development and advocacy. By participating  in huge trade exhibits like MTC, we are able to take a step towards  achieving our objective,” she added.

Cebu is not just the Queen City of the South. It is also dubbed as the  Furniture Capital of the Philippines as it continues to be responsible  for over 60 percent of the country’s export furniture sales despite  making up only 20 percent of the whole of the Philippines’ furniture  industry.

The enormous success that Cebu’s furniture industry continues to enjoy  is often accounted to the commendable craftsmanship that Cebuano  furniture designers and manufacturers possess.

As Ruby Salutan, consultant of CFIF, mentioned, “Amidst the challenges  in the furniture industry of Cebu brought about by the financial  crisis experienced by exporting countries, the business continues to  thrive and rise above the competition because of the innovative minds  of Cebuano furniture designers. Every piece of Cebu-made furniture  displays so much skill and creativity and more people from all walks  of life have to see it.”
