Cebu Receives More Pfizer Vaccines
A total of 210,600 doses of US-made Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccines arrived in the Mactan-Cebu International Airport (MCIA) on June 10, 2021.
This is part of the 2,282,850 doses of Pfizer-BioNTech vaccines that arrived in the Philippines the largest shipment of COVID-19 vaccines as of writing.
These vaccines were also distributed to Manila who received 1.86 million and Davao who received 210,600.
The US Embassy in Manila said that more Pfizer vaccines will arrive in the country and will benefit metropolitan areas such as Davao and Cebu.
“The United States is committed to leading the global response to the COVID-19 pandemic. And we will continue to support the Philippines’ vaccination and COVID-19 mitigation efforts as its reliable friend, partner, and ally,” US Embassy Chargé d’Affaires John Law said in a PNA article.
The Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine is developed together by American pharmaceutical company Pfizer Inc. and German biotechnology company BioNTech SE. It has an efficacy rate of 95% according to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. (ASC)
