Cebu Province, Mandaue City Suspends Work for Gov’t Offices
Work in government offices in Mandaue City was suspended Friday due to bad weather conditions brought about by Typhoon Ruby (Hagupit). Mandaue City Mayor Jonas Cortes also asked private companies to allow their workers go home early Friday.
Likewise, the Cebu provincial government also declares half-day work for its staff and personnel, but said it will leave a skeletal work force to attend public concerns for the rest of the day.
Several LGUs already announced suspension of classes in all levels in all public and private schools today.
As of Friday, PAGASA placed Cebu City under Storm Signal No.2.
Churches to Open Doors for Evacuees
Meanwhile, Cebu Archbishop Jose Palma issued instructions to parishes to open their Churches and whatever available resources like gymnasiums, pastoral centers and social halls for the evacuees.
Palma to open church not just for Roman Catholics but also to other members of other religious sects.
As of Friday, PAGASA reported that Ruby could make landfall over Eastern Visayas during the weekend.
