(PIA) – Eco tourism projects in the Midwestern part of Cebu were alloted a P13.5 million funding by Capitol.
Cebu Governor Hilario Davide III said they are set to look into the proposals of the mid west towns early next year.
Midwest towns include Alegria, Aloguinsan, Asturias, Balamban, and Tabuelan.
By January 2016, the towns will present their proposals which include the detailed engineering plans in front of the members of the Cebu Tourism Council.
Benjamin Yap, head of the Cebu Investment Promotion Office (CIPO), said the local government units will also undergo a series of talk, trainings and workshops.
The proposals of the LGU’s were already assessed based on their Ecotourism Management and Business Plan.
Some of the proposals include road opening, footbridge, footwalk, viewing deck, restrooms, cottages, water system, and tourist information area.
The municipality of Alegria offers canyoneering in Cambais falls and Kanlaob River.

The town of Asturias will also develop its Lake Buswang and promote their native delicacy “bibingka”.
Balamban, on the other hand, will also go on board on a canyoneering project leading to a mini-waterfall in Barangay Gaas. Tabuelan also plans to host an interpretative Batawang River Cruise. (fcc/PIA7-Cebu/Capitol Press Release)
