Cebu Products on Exhibit for APEC Delegates
Top Cebuano crafts ranging from furniture and home accessories to wearables like bags and jewelry are on display from August 22 to September 8, 2015 at the Northwing Atrium of SM City Cebu.
The Exquisitely Filipino Exhibit, to run simultaneously as the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) 2015 Third Senior Officials’ Meeting (SOM 3) and related sessions in Cebu City, carries products from 16 manufacturing companies and two art galleries in Cebu.
Though the APEC exhibit had a soft opening last August 22, a grand one is being scheduled for September 4, said Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Cebu Provincial Director Nelia F. Navarro.
She added that senior officials from APEC member economies who will be here for the SOM 3 will be invited as guests to the Grand Opening Salvo.

Among the high-end Cebuano products displayed at the exhibit are home decor and furnishings, fashion jewelry, handcrafted pieces, bags, embroidery products, and furniture by Arden Classic, Avatar Accessories, Bon-Ace, Catalina Embroideries, Cebu Intertrade Export, Detalia Aurora, D’ Oro Barandino, Earth Works Fashion, HoliCOW, Kultura Filipino, Mia Arcenas of Ferimar Import-Export, Janice Minor Export, Luisa Home by 808 LS Design Group, Obra Cebuana, Pacific Traders and Manufacturing Corp. and Vito Selma as well as art pieces from Qube Gallery and 856 G Gallery.
SM City Cebu provided entertainment in the form of a full orchestra in last Saturday’s soft opening. It introduced four different musical instruments of the Philippines, including the gangsa of Luzon, kalatong of the Visayas Region, agung of Mindanao, and the Sinulog drums of Cebu.
To mark the exhibit opening, guest of honor Ombudsman Conchita Carpio-Morales and Cebu Gov. Hilario “Junjun” Davide III led the simultaneous sounding of the instruments.
Another exhibit, which will target 30 exhibitors, will be opened at the Atrium D and Mosaic of SM City Cebu from September 2 to 8, 2015, according to DTI Cebu Industry Development Division chief Esperanza Hope Melgar.
