Cebu PB Okays PHP15,000 Christmas Bonus for Provincial Workers

The Cebu Provincial Board (PB) Thursday approved the grant of PHP15,000 Christmas bonus for each of provincial government’s 1,430 contractual and regular employees.

The Christmas bonus is covered by the PHP20-million supplemental budget which the Cebu PB approved in a special session Thursday.

Acting Cebu Provincial Budget Officer Danny Rodas said the bonus is the provincial government’s incentive to the employees who helped Cebu Province achieve the third highest score among provinces nationwide under the Cities and Municipalities Competitiveness Index last July.

The competitiveness index is an annual ranking conducted by the National Competitiveness Council.

Rodas said regular employees and contractual personnel who have been working in the Capitol since Sept. 1 this year will receive the incentive.

He said the granting of incentive to employees is based on Civil Service Commission Resolution 10112, which provides for programs on awards and incentives for service excellence (Praise).

The resolution provides that Praise serves as basis for granting the Productivity Incentive Bonus (PIB), other awards and incentives to employees.

Acting Cebu Provincial Treasurer Manny Guial said the Christmas bonus is the fourth incentive the provincial government gave to its employees this year.

Earlier this year, employees received their Collective Negotiation Agreement incentive, productivity enhancement incentive and 13th month pay. (PNA) FFC/EB/EDS
