Cebu on Red Alert as TS Auring Approaches
All disaster officials in Cebu are now ready to deploy after Cebu was placed on red alert as Tropical Storm Auring (TS Auring) approaches.
Cebu Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CPDRRMO) Chief Neil Sanchez said that they aim to have zero casualties during this storm.
Meanwhile, the Cebu City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CCDRRMO) are now ready to respond to any disasters.
Barangays that are near the coastal areas especially in Cebu are advised to execute a preemptive evacuation.
Relief goods are placed in strategic areas for easy distribution while Cebu Capitol’s heavy equipment are deployed in the northern and southern parts of Cebu.
As of 4:00 PM today, the center of TS Auring was last spotted at 440 km East Southeast of Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur (07.3 °N, 130.2 °E ).
Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) announced Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal no. 1 in these areas:
- Luzon
The southeastern portion of Masbate (Cataingan, Cawayan, Dimasalang, Esperanza, Palanas, Pio V. Corpuz, Placer) - Visayas
Northern Samar, Eastern Samar, Samar, Biliran, Leyte, Southern Leyte, Cebu, Negros Oriental, Bohol, Siquijor, and the northern portion of Negros Occidental (Bacolod City, Bago City, Cadiz City, Calatrava, Enrique B. Magalona, Escalante City, Manapla, Murcia, Sagay City, Salvador Benedicto, San Carlos City, Silay City, Talisay City, Toboso, Victorias City) - Mindanao
