Cebu LGUs Urged To Promote Local Tourism

Cebu Local Government Units (LGUs) are encouraged to create programs in promoting local tourism and products to help revive the local industry amid the pandemic.

Cebu Provincial Board Member Glenn Anthony Soco said LGUs should encourage citizens to patronize local products and services.

“The local government units and other relevant national agencies are likewise called upon to strongly temper its efforts in preventing the spread of the coronavirus, while equally formulating concrete plans and programs for its economy, its workforce, and for the businesses to regain themselves and survive amidst the pandemic,” Soco said.

Meanwhile, the province has passed a resolution appealing to all LGUs in Cebu to intensify programs promoting local products and the tourism industry.

He also mentioned that the tourism industry is the driving force in the economy in Cebu. He also believes that Cebu’s economy will recover, especially, with the reopening of businesses in the province. (ASC)
