Cebu Leads Medal Tally at the Conclusion of PNG 2018

Cebu City bagged first place in the medal tally after the Philippine National Games 2018 concluded on May 25, 2018.

Cebu City bagged 185 total medals with 46 gold, 67 silver, and 75 bronze medals, overtaking Baguio City which placed 2nd in the event with a total of 134 medals with 39 gold, 37 silver, and 68 bronze.

Mandaluyong City placed 3rd with 27 gold, 18 silver and 31 bronze medals. In 4th place, Cebu Province bagged 69 total medals with 19 gold, 20 silver and 30 bronze medals. Mandaue City came in 5th in the medal tally with 18 gold, 15 silver and 11 bronze medals.

President Rodrigo Duterte opened the event on May 19, 2018 and said that he will increase the prize pool for the top performing cities. Cebu City, who is sitting first place, received ₱10 million, Baguio took home ₱8 million for placing in second, Mandaluyong City received ₱6 million for grabbing third place, Cebu Province received ₱4 million, and ₱2 million for Mandaue City in fifth place.
