Cebu Groups to Break Two World Records this October

Cebu is just a step away from breaking two world records as the Cebu Zumba Instructors Network (CebuZIN) and Rotary Club of Cebu Fuente (RCCF) will spearhead the laudable and historical event this coming October 18, 2014.

As the ideal place for the momentous event, the Queen City of the South shall attempt to set about breaking the Guinness records of India for having the Largest Human Pink Ribbon Formation and Largest Zumba Class in the world.

To achieve both records, Cebu will need to break the current record of India at 6,847 for the Largest Human Pink Ribbon Formation and 6,671 for the Largest Zumba Class.

With this, CebuZIN and RCCF are targeting 10,000 to 20,000 participants from the academe, private sector and barangays in cities and Cebu province to break the two world records.

For the Largest Pink Ribbon Formation and Largest Zumba Class, participants shall receive a Pink Bandana and a numbered wristband for a joining fee for a cause of P50 only. The proceeds of the event will go to World Vision and ICANSERVE, respectively.

Participants of the Largest Pink Ribbon Formation shall wear pink t-shirts, and will be guided to get into an outlined ribbon on the signal of the adjudicator, while participants of the Largest Zumba Class shall dance the basic Zumba exercise for a minimum required time of 30 minutes.

The world breaking attempt will take place at the North Parking Area (behind Radisson Blu) of SM City Cebu, with the assembly time at 3pm.

The participants are encouraged to bring their own water bottles since water stations will be be available inside the record attempt area.

The organizers urge the Cebuanos to bring their families and friends to join the historical and memorable day breaking 2 world records in 1 day, 1 venue and in 1 city.
