Cebu Extends Poultry Ban
Cebu province extends the ban of poultry products from Luzon, Mindanao, and other areas affected by the Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI) subtype H5N1 and H5N8 o Avian Influenza (AI).
Cebu Provincial Governor Gwendolyn Garcia issued Executive Order No. 14 to extend the poultry ban in Cebu Province effective today, May 24, 2022.
The EO will continue to ban the entry of poultry products from AI-affected areas. This includes the transport of live birds such as day-old chicks and pullets, ready-to-lay pullets, ducks, quails, game fowls, pigeons, and pet birds from mentioned areas.
Additionally, poultry by-products such as dung, manure, and feathers are still not allowed to enter the province.

However, live birds from AI-free areas may enter Cebu as long as they submit the required documents.
Moreover, poultry products such as meat and eggs are allowed to enter the province as long as additional requirements are secured.
Meanwhile, the entry of poultry products from AI-free countries is still allowed as well as the transshipment of live birds from AI-free areas only within the vicinity of seaport and airport. (ASC)
