Cebu Drivers Urged Properly Disinfect their Vehicles
Operators and drivers of public utility vehicles are urged to properly disinfect their vehicles to prevent COVID-19 from spreading to passengers.
The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) 7 Regional Director Eduardo Montealto Jr. said that the Department of Transportation (DOTr) required every PUV to disinfect their vehicles before going to their respective routes and after arriving from their destination.
Montealto Jr. said that PUV drivers and operators should religiously disinfect the interiors of their vehicles; especially the plastic barriers, handlebars, and seats.
PUV Drivers are also reminded to strictly follow health safety guidelines such as the wearing of facemasks and face shields.
Moreover, only 75% seating capacity of their vehicles are allowed to board their vehicles — some local government units may only allow 50%.
This is to promote social distancing inside PUVs. (ASC)
