Cebu City to Release PHP10,000 Cash Aid to City’s 5,000 Public Tutors Sunday
The Cebu City Government is set to release a PHP10,000 cash assistance to each of the city’s 5,000 public school teachers on Sunday, December 13.
Cebu City Treasurer Diwa Cuevas said the city set aside PHP50 million for the teachers’ financial assistance.
Cuevas said they decided to release the teachers’ cash assistance on Sunday so as not to disturb their work during class days.
Cuevas said Cebu City Mayor Michael Rama will attend the distribution since he will then be back in the city from his trip to Paris, France.
Cuevas said the tentative venue of distribution is at the 9th floor of City Hall.
Cuevas said the city will also release on Friday, Dec. 11, the P30,000 cash incentives to each of the city’s 5,000 officials and employees.
The Cebu City Council approved Monday the city’s PHP201.9-million second supplemental budget (SB 2) this year, which includes PHP127.1 million for the cash incentives to the officials and employees.
Cuevas said the city will also release next week the senior citizens’ remaining PHP3,000 cash assistance out of their PHP12,000 cash aid this year and the remaining PHP1,000 financial assistance out of the PHP5,000 cash aid for persons with disabilities. (PNA) LAP/EB/EDS
