The Cebu City Sports Complex (CCSC) is closed for renovations starting today, May 19, 2023.

“To all our valued clients and visitors: Please be informed that starting May 19, 2023, we are CLOSED for renovation until further notice. Sorry for any inconvenience caused. Thank you,” CCSC said in a Facebook post.

Cebu City Public Information Office (PIO) said that Cebu City Mayor Michael Rama met with the Cebu City Sports Commission officials, Cebu City Local School Board (LSB), and the Department of Education (DepEd) to talk about the restoration of the sports complex as the City bids to host 2024 Palarong Pambasa.

“Mayor Mike Rama leads the Cebu City Sports Center Management Board meeting held at the office of the Mayor today.

The meeting tackles the restoration of the 29-year-old Cebu City Sports Center as the City bids for the hosting of the palarong pambansa,” Cebu City PIO said in a Facebook post.

The 29-year-old sports center in Cebu City will undergo renovations to prepare it as a potential venue for the Palarong Pambasa in July 2024.

The renovation of the CCSC has a budget of over P65 million as of February 1, 2023. This includes repaving the track oval, improving the swimming pool, and other amenities of the sports center. (ASC)
