Cebu City Revives JobStart Program
Amidst the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the Department of Manpower Development and Placement (DMDP) of Cebu City announced the revival of JobStart to help the Cebuanos find jobs easier.
DMDP Cebu City announced the revival of the Job Start Program on their Facebook page on Monday. DMDP also posted the qualifications and instructions on how to pre-register online for JobStart on their Facebook page.
Qualifications:
- Not currently working and enrolled in school or training
- With less than a year of working experience or no experience at all
- At least reached high school level, HS/SHS Graduate, or College Graduate
- 18-24 years of age
- Filipino Citizen
Here are the steps to pre-register for JobStart:
- Search for TESSA in your Facebook messenger
- give your consent, click MENU
- create your RESUME (you cannot proceed to the next step without completing this one)
- After filling in your information, TESSA will send you a copy pdf of your resume and to your email as well. (Make sure you have ACTIVE email)
Note: If you don’t have an answer to some details that she is asking, kindly answer N/A. Never leave it blank. - After creating your Resume, you can now click “I’M DONE” and then click JOBSTART, it will ask you if you have any PESO Office near you and then you click “YES” from there, it will give you a list of participating PESO Offices. Look for “PESO Cebu City” It will give you information about our office and it will ask you if you want to proceed with the pre-registration. Click “YES” and then you’re done! You have now successfully pre-registered in our JobStart program.
Meanwhile, Cebu City Mayor Edgar Labella supports the JobStart program and urges Cebuanos looking for a job to take advantage of the program.
“Giawhag ko kamo nga nangita og trabaho nga makig-coordinate mo sa atong PESO Cebu City Office o sunda kining mga steps nga gihatag sa atong Department of Manpower Development and Placement kon unsaon pag-avail sa maong programa (I urge anyone who is looking for work to coordinate with our PESO Cebu Office or follow the instructions that are provided by our Department of Manpower Development and Placement on how to avail of the program),” Labella said.
JobStart was first launched in 2014, which aims to enhance the employability of the Filipino Youth through a full-cycle employment facilitation service. These include career coaching, courses on technical skills training, and paid internships with private sector employers. (ASC)
