Cebu City Residents in High-Risk Flood Areas Relocated
Residents from high-risk flash flood areas are relocated by the Cebu City government as hazards brought about by continuous raining loom.
The Cebu City Council’s committee on infrastructure chairman Cebu City Councilor Jerry Guardo said that the Prevention, Restoration, Order, Beautification, and Enhancement (PROBE) were sent to assist the residents who are leaving the area.
There 34 households were given financial aid worth P35,000 to each household affected by the relocation.
Moreover, the structures inside the high-risk areas will be demolished.
Last October 1, sudden heavy rains caused the Kilalumsan River to overflow, causing flash floods and landslides in Brgy. Buhisan, Brgy. Labangon, Brgy. Tisa, Brgy. Punta Prinsesa, and Brgy. Mambaling. (ASC)
