Cebu City Ready to Buy Vaccines for COVID-19
Cebu City Mayor Edgardo Labella said on Monday that the Cebu City government is ready to purchase COVID-19 vaccines and that the city is working closely with the national government, waiting for the go signal of vaccine czar Secretary Carlito Galvez.
The city council meanwhile has approved the initial amount of P400 million for the purchase of the vaccine — the city may also release another P100 million as a supplemental budget if the first batch supply of the vaccine is insufficient.
After a tripartite agreement with the national government and the vaccine supplier, the city will now be ready to purchase the vaccines.
Labella also mentioned that the city prefers the COVID-19 vaccine of Pfizer and Moderna.
When the vaccines are ready, medical frontliners, police, military, and senior citizens will be first in line for the vaccine. (ASC)
