Guidelines on health and safety protocols on the opening of malls were discussed in a meeting Cebu City Mayor Edgar Labella had along with mall managers from different malls in the city.

Malls should guarantee the strict observation of social distancing. Mall administrations were also directed to require their employees, tenants, and customers to wear face masks at all times and to observe proper hygiene.

“Importante nga kinahanglan our security officers or atong tinugyanan observe the basic protocols,” Labella said.

According to Executive Order (EO) No. 084 issued by Mayor Labella yesterday, malls were permitted to start their operations today.

“Nakigtagbo ta nila aron ipahibawo nila nga maka-abli na sila except for leisure establishments or services sama sa sinihan, gyms ug barbershops,” Labella added.

The re-opening of malls will still prohibit “dine-in” services in all restaurants. (MLC)
