Cebu City Hospitals Now Considered ‘Safe Zones’
Hospitals in Cebu City are now considered as safe zones as the numbers of COVID-19 admissions dwindle down.
The occupancy rate of the 15 hospitals in Cebu City that cater to COVID-19 cases has gone down to the lower 50s.
According to the report from Cebu City’s Emergency Operations Center (EOC) last September 21, the occupancy rates of the private hospitals are now at 51.6 %, while the occupancy rate of public hospitals is 47.6%.
Department of Health (DOH) considers 60% below as a safe occupancy rate.
As of September 22, the active COVID-19 cases in the city also dropped to 2,429.
Meanwhile, the city also recorded 69 new COVID-19 cases, 132 additional recoveries, and 2 additional deaths.
Last August, the city faced a surge of COVID-19 cases due to the Delta variant, which led to a high occupancy rate of over 70%. (ASC)
