Cebu City Hall Workers to Get Year-end Bonus
The Cebu City government’s 5,000 employees of Cebu City Hall will soon get their year-end bonus, an official said.
Cebu City Budget Officer Marietta Gumia said the city government is set to release at least PhP51 million as year-end bonus and cash gifts for regular and casual employees.
Gumia said PhP38 million of the amount will cover the year-end bonus of the employees while PhP12.3 million will cover the payment of the cash gifts.
Gumia said the year-end bonus is equivalent to half of the employee’s monthly salary while the cash gift amounts to PhP2,500 each, which is half of the PhP5,000 cash gift set aside for them for this year.
The other half of the cash gift and the bonus was already released by the city government last May, she said.
The budget covering the bonus and cash gifts are already included under the city’s PhP13.4 billion annual budget this year.
Acting Cebu City Treasurer Diwa Cuevas said they have started processing the payrolls of the employees’ bonuses and cash gifts.
Cebu City Mayor Michael Rama said the money should be received by the employees the soonest time possible.
The employees are also supposed to receive their productivity enhancement incentive (PEI) this year but it has not yet been given since the approval of the proposed PhP2.8 billion first supplemental budget has been stalled due to a court case surrounding its source of fund. (PNA) SCS/EB/RSM
