Cebu City Commences Step 2 of PhilSys Registration
Cebu City commenced Step 2 of the Philippine Identification System (PhilSys) or the National ID registration on Thursday, March 18, 2021.
Cebu City Mayor Edgardo Labella, who announced the progress on Thursday, said that the registration kits contains the iris scanners, fingerprint scanners, laptops, and printers from the Philippines Statistics Authority (PSA) have arrived in the city.
The arrival of the equipmeny will streamline the process of the registration of PhilSys in the city, to which Labella also said that the city government will closely coordinate with PSA.
Step 2 of PhilSys encompasses the registration of the biometric information which includes the iris scan, fingerprints, and photos of the resident.
Registrations for PhilSys are done at the registration centers in local government offices and PSA’s regional and provincial offices.
The national ID or PhilSys is a valid ID that will streamline how services are delivered. The PhilSys aim is to set a single Philippines Identification System for all citizens and resident aliens in the Philippines. (ASC)
