Cebu City College to Rise Soon
The Commission on Higher Education (CHED) and the City Government of Cebu are pushing to build a City College.
Even before, Cebu City Mayor Edgardo Labella wanted to establish the Cebu City College to allow less fortunate students to acquire decent and quality education.
The City Government of Cebu however, needs to comply various requirements before the CHED can give them the approval to start the construction of the city college.
One of the primary requirement is a lot with at least 3-hectare wide.
The budget for the city college is yet to be revealed on the final phase of the project planning.
Mayor Labella said that this is the first step of making another pride in Cebu City.
Meanwhile, CHED-7 Regional Director Maximo Aljibe has met Mayor Labella about further plans and technicalities to finally put the city college on the ground.
It was known that all 3 cities in Metro Cebu have their respective city colleges like Talisay City College, Mandaue City College and Lapu-Lapu City College.
The moment Cebu City College’s operation will start, Mayor Labella guaranteed the students that the government will shoulder everything from tuition fee to miscellaneous. (MLC)
