Cebu City Cited For Gawad Listahanan Award
This Queen City of the Philippines has achieved another recognition in the national level.
The City of Cebu received Plaque of Recognition from the Department of Social Welfare and Development or DSWD as one of the finalists for the “Pagkilala sa Natatanging Kontribusyon sa Bayan” (PaNata Ko sa Bayan) Gawad Listahanan Award last January 28 this year during the DSWD’s 65th founding anniversary program.
Other finalists in the City Government Category were the Cities of Davao and Bislig, while the grand winner was Baguio City.
This city is using the Listahanan Database of the DSWD since 2015 to identify the poorest among the poor Persons with Disabilities or PWDs, among others.
Listahanan is an information management system that identifies who and where the poor households are in the country. It aims for the government and civil society to establish objective targeting system on the social protection programs and services to the poor.
City administrator Dr. Lucelle Mercado presented the plaque before the thousands of Cebu City Government employees in today’s regular Flag-raising Ceremony February 15 Monday held in the Plaza Sugbo.
Mercado handed the recognition to the city’s Department of Social Welfare and Services or DSWS represented by assistant department head Lucia Mahusay.
Today’s Flag-raising Ceremony, meanwhile, was spearheaded by the personnel from the city’s Tourist Police Unit also located in the Plaza Sugbo. (Cebu City Public Information Office PIO/Greggy Jiggs P. Senados)
