Cebu City Agri Department Seeks P73M Budget for 2015
(PNA) — The Cebu City agriculture department has proposed a budget of P73 million for next year, Cebu City agriculturist Joey Baclayon said.
Baclayon said they are hopeful the city will approve the proposed amount because of the proposed P58 million budget for this year, only P13 million was approved.
The Cebu City Council slashed the proposed P10 billion 2014 annual budget to P5.8 billion.
Baclayon said they are happy that they were assisted by the Department of Agriculture.
He assured more projects and activities for farmers if the proposed budget for next year will be approved.
Baclayon said he asked for higher budget because his office is targeting necessary assistance to farmers to improve their livelihood.
He said that with the projects they have lined up for the farmers, they would no longer have to go to urban areas to work. (PNA) LAP/EB
