Cebu Chamber: Opening of Cebu Business Month

Once again, with the cooperation of Ayala Center Cebu, Cebu Holdings Incorporated and Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI), the Cebu Business Month has officially opened with the theme “Glocalized Cebu.” It hopes to create a transnational business community by forging connections and integration. The ribbon cutting and Grand Opening Salvo was held at the Terrace, Ayala Center Cebu on May 29 at 6 pm.

There was bazaar dedicated to promoting Cebuano culture, artistry and charity organizations. Included in the bazaar were Materials Innovation Centre (MATIC), Optimizing and Upscaling Roles in the Food Supply Chain (OURFood), BPI Family Savings Bank, Otop store, Ramon Aboitiz Foundation Incorporated (RAFI), and Juanito I. King Foundation.

For this month, they have an assortment of events that everyone can look forward to.

On the last 3 days of May, there is a CCCI Advocacy Fair at Ayala Activity Center. They hope to promote social welfare and development within the community by integrating Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) into the businesses and pursuing collaboration with the Non-Government Organizations (NGOs).

On June 3-4, there will be an ICT and BPM Conference and Expo with the theme Glocalized Cebu which will be held at the Cebu City Marriott Hotel.

The PHILCONSTRUCT Visayas 2015 Expo will be held at the Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino, Lahug on June 4-6. It will showcase construction and building materials, and an outdoor expo for commercial vehicles.

To add a bit of joviality to this productive yet somber month, there is a Business-in-Golf Tournament which is to be held at Cebu Country club on June 11. ¬Another event to look forward to on this day is the Launching of the Cebu International 2015 and the 4th Cebu International Documentary Film Festival at Cinema One, SM City Cebu.

On June 16-18, they have the TECHNOTOUR Amazing Adventure Challenge. It is a 3-day event with trials and challenges set up across the southern to midwest Cebu. A group of 4 members should comprise per team. It is advisable for each team to have a car. There is an early bird discount of P18, 000 and a regular rate of P20, 000. The package includes a 2-room accommodation for 2 nights, meals, race jersey and freebies.

For those interested in the Entrepreneurship Conference with Break-out Sessions, it will be held on June 18-19 at the Cebu City Marriott Hotel. An expo on Technology and Innovation featuring the 2015 Regional Invention and Contest and Exhibit will be held on the same hotel, however, it will run on June 18-20.

There will be a Glocalized Tourism Forum at the Conference Rooms A-B-C, SM City Cebu Trade Hall on June 19. The Tourism Night will be on June 20 at the Cebu City Marriott Hotel.

Former and current members of Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry gather together for the opening of Cebu Business Month.

There will be a Cebu International Travel and Fiesta (CITF) event in partnership with the Department of Tourism. It will be on June 19-21 at the SM City Cebu Trade Hall & Northwing. It will showcase the best travel packages locally and internationally.

The 4th South-East Asian Creative Cities Network Forum will be held at the City Sports Club on June 25. It will feature speakers from all over South East Asia.

The beloved Visayan Pop Song Writing Competition will be held at Cinema One, SM City Cebu on June 26.

The Local Jobs Fair will be held at the Abellana Sports Complex. The Cebu Blogging Summit 2015 and New Media Awards 2015 will be held at Cebu City. All 3 events will happen on June 27.

On June 28, the 3rd Cebu Run for the Rivers will start and end at the SM City Cebu Parking Area.

The last event of the month, on June 30, will be the Grand Chamber Awards and Fellowship Night. The ceremony will be held at the Radisson Blu hotel.
