Cebu Capitol Gives P6M Aid to ‘Queenie’ Victims in South Cebu
The Cebu provincial government distributed more than Php 6 million worth of financial assistance to barangays in the second district in southern Cebu which were hit by tropical depression Queenie in December last year.
At least 23 barangays from the towns of Samboan, Argao, Malabuyoc, Boljoon and Badian received the cash assistance from the province’s development fund.
These towns were the ones badly battered by tropical deppression Queenie.
The financial assistance will be used for road reconstruction and rehabilitation, and establishment of roads, daycare centers, among others.
Cebu Governor Hilario Davide III handed the financial assistance of various amounts to the recipients, the provincial information office said.
Cebu Provincial Information Officer Ethel Natera said validations were made before the financial assistance was shelled out four months after Queenie hovered over southern part of the province.
The implementation of the barangay projects got the approval of the Cebu Provincial Board last March 16, she said. (PNA) FPV/EB/EBP
