Cebu Business Month Develops A “Digital Cebu” Through Tourism
CBM to organize a Tourism Job Fair, Tourism Forum, and other various activities for June 15 and 16
Tourism has and always will be a defining factor in the development of our ever-growing economy. In the continued effort to promote and strengthen this sector, the tourism committee of the 2016 CBM celebration aims to gather 100 tourism-related companies to participate in the Tourism Job Fair this coming June 15. The Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) believes that digital technology in tourism will bring business to the next level.
The fair runs from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM and will be held at Marco Polo Plaza Cebu. CBM’s Tourism Committee Chair, Julie Najar, says varying job opportunities for both local and overseas await eager job hunters during the whole-day event. CCCI President Melanie Ng and CBM Chair Christian Paroan join CBM Tourism Chair Najar in welcoming guests to both events.
The CBM 2016 team has invited hotel properties, airlines, cruise liners, travel agencies, and many more to participate in the job fair. CBM’s Tourism Committee will also hold a Tourism Forum the next day, June 16, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM in the same venue. The forum will focus on how digital technology can be utilized in boosting Cebu’s tourism on a global scale.
Four individuals with expertise in tourism and technology have been invited to speak before stakeholders and the general public. The topics to be covered will include Marketing for Sustainable Business Success — Making the Customer Brand Experience Reality by Mr. Merril Yu; The Essence of Hospitality by Mr. Eric Waldburger; Reputation Management in the Age of Disruption by Mr. Ron Jabal; and Digital Tourism: Apps, Social and Bots: Harnessing Tech for Tourism by Mr. Max Limpag. There will also be a presentation on Mega Cebu for Tourism by Mr. Dondi Joseph, as well as special messages coming from Hon. Hilario Davide III, Governor of the Province of Cebu, and Ms. Rowena Montecillo, Department of Tourism Region VII Director.
