CCCI Welcomes New Members, Holds General Membership Meeting
The Cebu Chamber of Commerce of Industry (CCCI) held its general membership meeting and induction of their new members last Dec.18 at the City Sports Club Cebu.
Joining in the gathering were the members of the board, representatives from new member companies and the media.
CCCI outgoing President Lito Maderazo gave his president’s report which highlighted the Chamber’s initiatives this year, including the Cebu Business Month (CBM) 2013 celebration success stories, and their relief efforts to the survivors of the two calamities, the M7.2 earthquake and super typhoon Yolanda, which hit the region in the last quarter.

In a mini press conference on the sidelines before the meeting, Vice President for External Affairs Antonio Chiu said that 2013 is their most challenging year due to the said calamities. He said that the Chamber has put extra effort in the last quarter, that has also further strengthened its corporate social responsibility.
According to Maderazo also, foreign aid organizations during the calamities that occurred have seen the Chamber as a good performing NGO and has forged a further initiative that may be pursued between the Chamber and the said international organizations, in the future.
Following the president’s report was a presentation of the CCCI centennial hymn by the CNU Chorale, where it is not unknown to the local business sector and the community that the Chamber is celebrating its Centennial + 10th year. The song number was then succeeded by a presentation of the upcoming CBM 2014 highlights, by overall Chairman Felix Tiukinhoy, Jr.
A project with Germany and the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) called Cebu Food Consultancy Group (CFCG), was also initially launched at the meeting. The endeavor will provide local culinary practitioners in the province technical assistance on food safety.

After which, a revival of the previous P4 (Premium Privilege Plus Program) of CCCI, the Centennial Business Access Card (CBAC) was also nailed yesterday with 26 partners. CBAC is one of the many benefits of being a member of the organization. It is essentially a privilege card which entitles each member company for discounts, special offers and other privileges from its fellow members. It is aimed to encourage and promote mutual patronage among CCCI members.
Next thing was the formal introduction and induction of new members of the Chamber. There are 33 new member companies in the Chamber.
Highlights to expect also in Cebu Chamber next year are the Centennial + 10 Photo Gallery at Ayala Center Cebu from January 14-22, CCCI Book Launch at Marco Polo Plaza Cebu on January 24, the Centennial + 10 anniversary celebration at The Terraces, Ayala Center on January 31, Opening Salvo of CBM ’14 on May 30 and business month activities in the whole of June.
