CCCI Holds ASEAN Economic Integration Forum
The Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry, in partnership with the Central Visayas Regional Development Council (CV-RDC), held a forum on the ASEAN Economic Integration last November 6 at the Sarrosa International Hotel.
Dubbed as “Forum On The ASEAN Economic Integration: Impact on Central Visayas Business, Manufacturing, and Agri-Fishery Sectors”, the gathering aimed to create awareness regarding the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) which will function by 2015, discuss salient concerns on the integration such as transaction costs, policy consistency and stability, transportation and tariffs among others.

The talk also discussed topics such as Trade Liberalization and facilitation, Challenges on Standards and Conformance, Infrastructure and Logistics. and the AEC’s Impact on Agriculture and Fisheries.
AEC Forum was also supported by the following government agencies: Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) 7, Department of Agriculture (DA) 7, Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) 7, Departmnet of Trade and Industry (DTI) 7, National Economic Development Authority (NEDA) 7 and Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) 7.
