Caught in CCTV Camera: Thief in Talisay Nabbed

The suspected burglar who was caught in a surveillance camera robbing a home in a subdivision in Dumlog, Talisay City, last April 30, 2023, was arrested after a hot pursuit operation was conducted a few days later.

The police arrested a 34-year-old suspected burglar in Brgy. San Roque, Talisay City, last May 2.

The victims said they left their home to go on a vacation when they found out that their home was robbed and immediately reported it to the Talisay City Police.

The suspect has taken a total of P161,000 worth of valuables from the victim’s house. This includes their motorcycle worth P60,000, a laptop worth P45,000, a handheld console, multiple phones and chargers, a pair of AirPods, a P3,000 designer bag, and a shoe worth P6,000 among the items that were taken.

The suspect is now in the custody of Talisay City Police and is expected to face charges against him.

On May 4, Talisay City Mayor Gerald Anthony “Samsam” Gullas used his Facebook page to issue a warning to anyone planning to commit crimes in his city.

“We have always warned those who want to commit crimes in our City that they will eventually get caught by our very active police force,” Gullas said. (ASC)
