Capitol to Malabuyoc Officials: Let’s Set Aside Politics
Gov. Hilario P. Davide III, along with Vice Gov. Agnes Magpale, extended a hand of reconciliation to some Malabuyoc town officials during the inauguration rites of the five covered courts on Friday last week.
Davide, in his speech, called off political rivalry and encouraged to concentrate efforts towards serving the interest of the people.
“Ihikiling nato ang politika. Ang angay natong buhaton, magtinabangay kita. Usa ra ang ang atong tinguha dinhi sa Malabuyoc og mao kana ang inyong kalambuan,” Davide said.
During the 2016 elections, incumbent town mayor Lito Creus Jr. ran under the ticket of One Cebu party.
Magpale shared the governor’s sentiments and urged town officials to transcend beyond political boundaries. The vice governor also asked officials to reach out to former election rivals.
“Undangon nato ang pagpanggukod sa mga opisyales na dili nato kaalyado. Humana ang piniliay,” Magpale said.
“We in the Capitol will continue to reach out to the hands of the local leadership for the good of Malabuyoc,” she added.
Magpale also assured that she and the governor would continue to serve all the people in the province notwithstanding political affiliation of the town officials.
Meanwhile, Capitol helped install roofs to barangay courts in Tolosa, Salmeron Sorsogon, Polacion 1 and Sto. Nino with a total project cost of P10 million.
Magpale pointed out that their presence shows their commitment to fulfill what they promised during the election.
“Ug tungod kining grupoha, tumanon man gyud ang mga saad ug ipakita gyud nato nga kining among pagpanerbisyo, pagsilbi kini sa mga katawhan,” she said.
Sorsogon village chief Crisanta Sanoy thanked the provincial government for the project.
Moreover, top Capitol officials also inaugurated a demo field for the farmer’s scientist training program (FSTP) in Barangay Tolosa and a trading post in Barangay Sorsogon.
Also present during the event were board members Jerome Librando and Christopher Baricuatro as well as Congressman Peter John Calderon, all representing the seventh district.
Congressman Wilfredo Caminero, who initiated the covered court projects when the town was still part of the 2nd district, promised to continue providing programs that will help uplift the lives of the poor. (Kelvin Canizares)
