Capitol to Give Financial Aid to Typhoon-Hit Provinces in Northern Luzon
Gov. Hilario P. Davide III announced today that the Cebu Provincial Government will extend financial assistance to provinces in Northern Luzon that were badly devastated by typhoon Ompong.
Davide said that he tasked Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (PDRRMO) chief Baltazar Tribunalo to find out and assess which provinces in Northern Luzon need the immediate financial help.
The governor said the Province will extend at least P1 million in financial assistance to each province identified as badly-hit by typhoon Ompong, which made landfall over the weekend in Cagayan, Isabela, and Ifugao, among other provinces in Northern Luzon.
“Ang ato lang nga makatabang ta. Malooy pud intawon ta ba,” said Davide, adding that it has been the initiative of the Capitol to help its fellow local government units that suffer the brunt of any calamity.
The Capitol had extended P1-million financial assistance to Ormoc City, which incurred damages after it was hit by a 6.5-magnitude earthquake in July 2017. (Cebu Provincial Government)
