Some 125 malnourished children of Barangay Tag-ubi, Compostela town benefited from the supplemental feeding organized by the Cebu Provincial Government in coordination with the Compostela Municipal Social Welfare Office last March 18.

They are part of the 4,985 children around Cebu Province who will be able to avail of the supplemental feeding that will last until April 6.

The activity included the distribution of choco fresh milk and multivitamins and turnover of multimedia sets (TV and DVD) to the daycare center.

An Early Childhood Care and Development checklist will be given to daycare centers to monitor progress of children’s growth.

The Cebu Provincial Government started the distribution last March 4 in the municipalities of Talisay, Minglanilla, Naga, and San Fernando.

Supplemental

The supplemental feeding activity is part of the program of the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office, which aims to nurture malnourished children ages 3-5 back to positive health.

Vice Governor Agnes Magpale said that the program helps to improve the health of the children.

“The choco fresh milk is good for 90 days for the malnourished children. Aside from that we also provide milk to normal children,” Magpale said.

Rosana Pitogo said that the program made her happy because aside from providing milk and vitamins to her children, she can also save money and used it for other expenses.
