Capitol PESO, POEA Set Overseas Job Fair on July 8
Thousands of job vacancies from the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) licensed recruitment agencies will be offered at the overseas job fair slated on July 8 at the Capitol Social Hall.
Available overseas jobs vary from skilled workers, like welders, electricians, and painters to hotel and restaurant workers, like waiters, receptionists, housekeeping staff, among others.
Identified job destinations include Japan, China, Dubai, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Taiwan, and Kuwait.
Public Employment Service Office (Peso) Labor and Employment Officer III Julius Chua said that besides the overseas job fair, the event will also serve as a one-stop shop for those who wish to process their documents from national agencies like the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA), and the Social Security System (SSS).
Representatives from the Provincial Prosecutor will also be there for those who want to avail themselves of the free legal services.
The event will start at 8 a.m. and will end until all applicants finish the whole process, said Chua.
As of June 27, there are a total of 599 applicants registered. And on July 6, an advance screening will take place to prioritize the pre-registered
applicants.
Registration for the overseas job fair started last May 2. Interested applicants may register at the Peso Capitol on or before July 8 (Sunday).
The second overseas job fair is organized by the Cebu Provincial Government, through PESO, along with POEA, and the Department of Labor and Employment (Dole).
