Capitol Donates Sheep to CTU-Barili
The Cebu Provincial Government donated 15 heads of sheep to Cebu Technological University (CTU)-Barili Campus.
The donation was made upon the request of CTU-Barili Campus Director Catalino Higida to Governor Hilario P. Davide III.
Davide referred the request to Provincial Veterinarian’s Office (PVO), which also recommended the donation of the sheep.
In his letter, Higida said they needed various animals for instruction, research and extension activities.
CTU-Barili has offered agriculture courses, such as Doctor in Veterinary Medicine and Bachelor of Science in Agriculture Major in Animal Science.
Provincial Veterinarian Mary Rose Vincoy said animals were already delivered to the school mid-February.
Dr. Vincoy said the Capitol has been hoarding 24 heads of sheep in its training facility in Bolocboloc, Barili.
The said animals were donated to the province by the Bureau of Animal Industry many years ago. At present, the animals were used for breeding and laboratory purposes.
The remaining nine heads will be transferred to Tinaan, City of Naga, where a goat farm is also located.
