Capitol Distributes Another Batch Of Multicabs
Governor Hilario P. Davide III and Vice Governor Agnes Magpale turned over 31 multicabs to barangay captains last March 21 at the Capitol parking lot.
These vehicles are worth over P4 million. Six (6) of the vehicles are intended for the barangays in the islets of Bantayan island.
Magpale said mobility is always a problem in the barangays, especially in the mountain areas where usually the mode of transportation is only motorcycles for hire or habal-habal.
She said the current administration prioritizes initiatives with benefits that can immediately be felt by the ordinary people. She said this gives flesh to the Davide administration’s mission and vision: Kalambuan sa Matag Sugboanon.
The governor said this is not an easy task and it cannot be realized overnight. He thanked the barangay captains for supporting the programs of his administration. “Hinaot nga ang inyong pagsalig ug pagtoo sa causa sa administrasyon magpabiling lig-on ug hugot,” he said.
Since Davide assumed office, the Capitol has already distributed 228 units of vehicles worth P65.1 million. These are 22 ambulances, 47 mini-ambulance, 142 multicabs, 11 units mini-dumptruck, two motorcycles and one elf.
Davide said more vehicles will be purchased and distributed as he continues to receive requests of vehicles from the barangays.
Among the recipients of the latest batch of vehicles were the three barangays in Kinatarcan Island in Santa Fe town, namely Langub, Hagdan and Kinatarcan or locally called Bitoon.
Since there are no RoRo vessels in the island, Hagdan Barangay Captain Vilma Dawa said they will hire a pumpboat to ferry the multicabs to Kinatarcan Island. It will be lifted to and from pumpboat by at least 20 people.
Langub Barangay Captain Rolando Villacarlos said the charge of the pumpboat is P4,000. Villacarlos said they were very thankful to the governor, who visited the island twice in his first three years in office.
