Capitol Agri Consultant Wants to Establish Farm Tourism Project
Cebu provincial government agriculture consultant Dr. Romulo Davide has said he wanted the provincial government to establish a first agri-tourism nature farm in Cebu.
Davide said they were working to identify the areas viable for this project.
“It is a place where you can see a farm with fruits and vegetables, a restaurant and perhaps a swimming pool. It could be a place where visitors harvest and cook their own food,” Davide said.
Davide led the recent blessing and soft opening of the Php 6 million Farmer Scientist Training Program (FTSP) building in Barangay Candabong, Argao town.
The provincial government spend Php 5 million, while the Argao municipal government contributed Php 1 million for the construction of the building, which stands on a one-hectare property of the municipal government.
The FSTP building is a mixed-use facility to hold FSTP trainings, seminars, congress, and other activities.
A portion of the building is intended as an office, conference room, and laboratory, while the second floor is a dormitory for overnight stay.
Argao, Cebu Mayor Edsel Galeos said he would develop the area around the building which will include the establishment of a nursery for imported crops and vegetables. (PNA) RMA/EB/SSC
