Canberry Hotel Inaugurates in Guadalupe
To take advantage of the province’s growing tourism industry, the Five Water Dragons Development Incorporated has opened its first hotel in Cebu, the Canberry Hotel.
Canberry Hotel general manager Alex Artes, in an interview, said that Cebu’s standing as a top tourist destination and as a key economic player are among the factors that attract outside investors, leading the company expanded its hotel operations in Cebu.
Canberry Hotel, which is situated in Barangay Guadalupe, Cebu City, has a 49 air-conditioned business rooms that has four categories namely standard, superior, deluxe and family room. The standard room has a double bed; superior room has 2 single beds; deluxe room has one double bed and one single bed; and family room has one queen size bed and one sofa bed. All rooms have hot and cold shower, LED cable tv, and powered with a free wifi. The hotel’s affordable room rates ranges from P 788 to P 1,388 per night.
The seven-storey hotel also features restaurant that can accommodate up to 40 persons.
Basement parking area is also available for the guests. While, function rooms are set to open in the first quarter of 2015.
According to Artes, the hotel has been logging 40% occupancy from both local and foreign guests since its soft opening early this year. The company, who is eyeing to open another hotel outside Cebu, has no fixed plans yet for expansions of hotel branch within the city as they are still observing the performance of the hotel.
Canberry Hotel is the first hotel outside Mindanao of the Five Water Dragons Development Inc. in Visayas. The company owns Waterloo Hotel in Zamboanga City.
