Can you HackIT? IBPAP’s AI Hackathon Pilot Sparks Innovation in Cebu

Published

on

The IT and Business Process Association of the Philippines (IBPAP), through its Tech and AI Council, is launching Can You HackIT: The IBPAP Challenge, a hackathon pilot in Cebu this July, bringing together university students and industry mentors to build practical tech solutions in AI, automation, and digital services.

Can you HackIT is designed as a “taste test” of innovation, beginner-friendly, impact-driven, and grounded in real-world challenges affecting students, families, commuters, and communities. IBPAP member companies will serve as mentors, guiding student teams through the ideation, design, and rapid prototyping phases.

This initiative supports IBPAP’s national goals to develop future-ready Filipino talent and position the Philippines as a global provider of high-value digital experiences. It also marks the beginning of a broader plan to bring Can you HackIT to other regions nationwide, supporting countryside development and industry-academe collaboration.

Watch out for more details—the final mechanics and list of participating schools will be announced soon.
