Bus Terminal Ready for Kalag-Kalag
The Cebu South Bus Terminal (CSBT) is hundred percent ready for the “Kalag-Kalag” this weekend.
CSBT Manager Ramon Dumayac said that the terminal’s operation is almost ready in preparation for the coming holiday.
Part of the preparation is the new traffic flow inside the establishment, which will be implemented on Oct. 29 until Nov. 2.
A request to the Philippine National Police (PNP) for additional security force was already communicated from Dumayac’s office.
“We have requested police personnel augmentation last Friday to CPPO Chief Noel Guillamac’s office. As of now we have 10 police personnel assisting us, with two shifts. We are also requesting for sniffing dogs to tighten the security around the terminal since we are expecting 50,000 to 70,000 passengers this holiday,” said Dumayac.
The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) and Land Transportation Office (LTO) are also expected to inspect the buses and its documents before the busy day.
Furthermore, cleanliness is also one of the important concerns of the management. This is why they are getting an additional 15 outsourced cleaners from Extra Ordinaire Agency.
The operations manager also mentioned the preparedness of a medical team, information booth and security office where closed circuit TV (CCTV) cameras are being monitored.
Also, some bus operators have already secured a special permit from LTO for additional trips from starting this Friday.
Meanwhile, regarding the building permit of CSBT, Dumayac happily disclosed that the process is now in its last stage.
“If the Office of the Building Official (OBO) will recommend an assessment of how much we are going to pay, then it’s good as approved,” Dumayac added.
