Building Classrooms Conducive To Student Learning
The Aboitiz Foundation, the social development arm of the Aboitiz Group, and AP Renewables, Inc. (APRI) – Makban recently turned over AGAPP “Silid Pangarap” classrooms benefiting the preschool students of San Felix Elementary School in Sto. Tomas, Batangas.
The turnover was attended by APRI Controller Ginger Tanchi, School Principal Analiza Montero, Division of Batangas Senior Education Program Specialist Rodrigo Castillo, APRI Vice President for Corporate Services Noemi Sebastian, APRI Assistant Vice President for Makban Geothermal Facility Warren Maralit, Aboitiz Foundation Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer Augusto Carpio III, and APRI President and Chief Operating Officer Felino Bernardo.
With education at the forefront of its corporate social responsibility initiatives, more than half of the Aboitiz Foundation’s annual budget goes to projects that support the country’s public education system. Since 2011, the Aboitiz Foundation, in partnership with AGAPP, has spent over P124 million to build 216 Silid Pangarap classrooms in 108 schools nationwide, benefitting 40,320 preschoolers.
Thirty more AGAPP classrooms are slated to be donated by Aboitiz this year as part of the Aboitiz Group’s firm commitment to education.
